GBT Participates in SiGMA Africa and Shares Tanzania’s Experience in Gaming Regulation
Recently, Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) participated in the SiGMA Africa Summit, one of the leading platforms on the continent bringing together stakeholders in the gaming industry.
During the Summit, GBT was represented by the Director General, Mr. James Mbalwe, also served as a panelist in a session titled “Regulating Africa: Putting the Player First,” which convened regulators and industry leaders to discuss strengthening player protection while supporting sustainable growth of the gaming sector across Africa.

The discussion emphasized the importance of evidence-based policies, regional and international cooperation, and balanced regulatory frameworks in addressing emerging challenges within the sector.
GBT’s participation reflects its continued commitment to engaging with both local and international stakeholders in promoting effective regulation and responsible gaming practices.
